John gotto is a british photographer who creates photo digital composite images. his work combines paintings drawings and photography. he has done many different things. each piece of work he does has a different topic and each one is very thought out.
his work is like social documentary but because he has explored so many genres it is very hard to say.
he started his photography in the 1960's studying at the saint martins school of art. but started to combine many different formats of art in the 1980's.
his work is always about making a statement or telling a story which sometimes uses social satire.
his work is digitally manipulated to layer over paintings and drawings to create the final composite.
his work is very surreal but has a sense of reality too it.
the light and colours are all very different because of how many images are used in them some people stand out more than others which creates the surreal feel to it.
for his series "ukadia"there are many different images because there is a series of images inside it.
his images are all his own and he only seems to be influenced by himself.
i really like these images although i dont think i would do something like this myself
